i put a tick on “randomize port on launc” but still says port is closed. i restarted transmission after this and still nothing.

Hmm strange … maybe you have some strong firewall before your pc? Try if you have the same problem with some LiveCD or LiveUSB of different GNU / Linux distribution if you’re on Ubuntu.

View CommentView CommentRestarting Transmission didn’t work, but eventually came through after a reboot of my whole system. Now working like a charm.

Thanks, it worked.
In Transmission Options-Network(WAN), select " pick random port at startup". I rebooted my raspberry pi.
