Comment on Linux record audio from console / terminal with rec, arecord and ffmpeg by Gepeto.

Thanks for this share ! I’ve managed to record audio with a Python script (witch is a nice way to do that too). I was missing the lame command line to convert to mp3. Great ! God bless !

Well… I can share you two links witch inspired me a lot for one of my purpose :
My first purpose was to detect silences in a record stream, so these helped (the is_silent function). My real final prupose is to record readings (Bible) for, let say, a whole book, then to cut a big file according to 5 seconds silences (managed by the reader). I just wanna checked if this is easily possible for the moment. I didn't get to a final script. I just get to the point : "if needed, I know how to do that !"
Now, just because that's the first time I write to your blog, let me say you something : Your blog is real interesting, from the technical side, as from the spiritual one. Thanx from France 🙂

Why do Orthodox Christians Baptize the Kids as babys / Why we Orthodox Christian practice Infancy Baptism
Sorry… I meaned "DON'T throw stones upon me"… But that was just a joke ;-P, you've found that I guess…

Why do Orthodox Christians Baptize the Kids as babys / Why we Orthodox Christian practice Infancy Baptism
Hi I come back to this very interesting article, as I am protestant (please throw stones on me :-)). Both side can argue very deeply on that subject and even on a theological analysis. So I am not writing to correct some point of vue that could be seen as wrong or right depending on the side you are. Just to enlight the protestant point of vue.
The main subject about the infant baptism is not if it is right or wrong according to the scripture. It is : is it coherent with the processus of salvation. On this point, protestants doesn't have the same point of vue than Roman Catholics or Orthodox Church : we believe that salvation doesn't come with baptism. Baptism is an obedience to the Lord as soon as someone believes in Him, a way to claim publicly his faith to Christ; Protestants believe that a believer can only be saved by faith. So that's right that many protestant people could argue against the infant baptism (and I don't agree all the time with the necessity of such discussions) but only because they believe that baptism does not save anyone.
I think that's a point that needed to be exposed to you as this is maybe something difficult to figure out as you are used to a sacramental way to praise God, witch is really different with the protestant understanding.
Nevertheless, baptism or not, I am convinced that you have a true faith and that you really love God. I don't have any doubt on that. It is not because of your baptism (otherwise everyone who is baptismed should have a so deep faith, witch is not) but because the grace of God upon your life. Thanks to Him about that ! 🙂
