Howto mount remote server ssh filesystem using sshfs

Monday, March 7th, 2011

I recently needed to mount remotely located directory via ssh to store some backups.
Actually it appeared to be very easy, here is how I achived the goal.

debian:~# sshfs remote-server-name.com:/remote/server/directory /local/directory/to_mount_in Now you will have your directory from the remote ssh server /remote/server/directory mounted to /local/directory/to_mount_to

Later on after finishing the use of the directory to unmount the directory use the command:

debian:~# fusermount -u /local/directory/to_mount_to
