A friend of mine who is in germany Shaltev has sent me a Video of his band. The band is called viamala, here is there website http://viamala.org. I really liked there music btw. Tomorrow I have Dutch. The day was a sort of quite for me thanks and Praise be to the Lord creator. By the way my health is not well. I have pains in different organs sometimes. You know life is hard. I’m loving more and more the FreeBSD :). I watched Ice Age and currently I’m watching Ice Age 2. Great anime (I’m having fun with it. I often think of becoming a monk. Life is such a vanity.END—–

Geri’s Birthday

Friday, January 18th, 2008

The day before yesterday, I was in a pretty bad mood and decided to went out. I went to the Mino’s coffee and accidently it happened that Geri a friend of mine had a birthday it was refreshing to spend some timewith real people even thought I thought about all’s behaviour and particularly “how hipocrity they are”.I drinked two glasses of wine for which Miro (Geri’s husband) said it smells like socks. Good heavens my nose was stalled. Yesterday I was out for a coffee with Lily :).

The weekend was a sort of peaceful.Servers and everything runs fine thanks to the Lord! (ofcourse). I’ll end the post with a quote fromthe bible through the small program called “verse”.

Here is the quote” “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…” II Chronicles 16:9 :)END—–

IE PassView – View stored Microsoft Internet Explorer passwords program

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

While checking a friend of mine's blog, I've seen a reference to a Windows program capable of revealing stored website passwords.
Check stored internet explorer passwords in plaintext with IE PassView

IE PassView is a small password management utility that reveals the passwords stored by Internet Explorer Web browser, and allows you to delete passwords that you don't need anymore. It supports all versions of Internet Explorer, from version 4.0 and up to 9.0.
Ie PassView is quite a good one for crackers, who would like to steal some lame poor Windows IE user facebook, gmail, yahoo etc. passwords 😉 here is a link to IE Passview's download page

How to play VCD videos in Debian Linux

Monday, September 26th, 2011

Totem VCD error occured, could not open location you might not have permissions to open the file

A friend of mine gave me a VCD with some coptic Orthodox Christian exorcism, where there pope was chasing some evil spirits from possessed muslims who came to the Coptic Orthodox Church in egypt. The video was made to be in VCD and as you can expect this did not worked out of the box with Totem and VLC out of the box.
Putting in the VCD video inside my cdrom poped up an error like the one in the header of the post.
In order to make the video play I had to use the old school and now a bit obsolete mplayer.
Hence in order to play the VCD on Debian Linux I had to install mplayer and w32codecs packages first e.g.:

debian:~# apt-get update && apt-get install mplayer w32codecs

Second to play the video from gnome-terminal, I had to switch to the mounted cdrom location /media/cdrom0 and launch the video with mplayer cmd like so:

debian:~$ cd /media/cdrom0/vcd
debian:/media/cdrom0/vcd$ mplayer vcd://2
...

In some cases it might be necessery to play the video with mplayer command like:

debian:/media/cdrom0/vdd$ mplayer vcd://2 vcd://3

Watching it with mplayer from console has some downsides as I couldn’t make the fast rewind work, but still it’s way better than nothing.
Too bad in Debian Squeeze 6 gmplayer is no longer installable. The gmplayer can probably be installed if mplayer is compiled from source, but I’m too lazy to try it out.
I’ve red also in some forums online that gxine is capable of playing the VCD play nice, but I couldn’t install it from my existing Debian repositories so I did not give it a go.

Plamenko and his project Symphology – One of the greatest composer guitarists in Bulgaria presently

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

A friend of mine Plamen Panayotov is one of the best guitarists, I’ve ever watched live.
He is self-taught musician and is one of the notable guitar composers of our times (in my view).
As every genious he is not recognized on time and his music is not well known in Bulgaria.

Plamenko , he uses unique tunings not to be find in musicians official books.
Plamenko’s music is highly charged with positivism and goodness as it also reflects his life as a Christian and his Christian views.
He tried hard to make living with music and has issued a couple of music albums which are available for purchase in Amazon (just in case if you like his works).

Plamenko’s living is very interesting and he was actually the first person, I’ve met to publicly confess his faith in Christ.
I found it nice to share some of his inspirational and highly spiritual songs here in hope they will bring some peace and spiritual joy to my readers.

Plamenko – The Wisdom from Abvove

Plamenko – Renewal / Revival

Plamenko – First is Pure

Plamenko’s music is very unusual and I believe it would not be of an interest to people, who are after pop culture. Also his music is not a music one can listen everyday, (because of its high music diversity and complexity of composings is not easy for to be comprehended by the unskillful eye), however I’m sure his music can be appreciated well by professional musicians, spiritual seekers and unique music connoisseurs.

Plamenko’s living is as unsual as his music. He spend many of his years playing his guitar and traveling throughout Bulgaria’s mountain areas, waterfall regions and the wildest places in the country.

He shared with me his stories on how he lived, almost like a hermit for few weeks in abandoned old houses, vineyeards, meadows located in the wild.
During his tiny periods of “hermitage”, he told me how much he enjoyed the birds singing, crickets voices at night, the winds etc., while wandering in the mountain goaty pathways.
The most unique story, I’ve heard from his mouth comes like this. He was travelling in the mountain as always and once loved a certain mountain area place, he liked an abandoned house nearby and stayed and lived there (in high ridges of Rodopi Mountains) for two weeks time. During the two weeks he spend there his food was wild blueberrys and other kind of fruits many of which wild foods located he can find naturally growing nearby the place.

There is no doubt Plamenko like kind of people, are hard to meet in todays crazy life, when money are considered the highest good and people forgot that the essence of life is not in eating and drinking as our saviour Jesus Christ told in the gospels.

People like Paca are probably almost impossible to find in the developed Western Countries.
If you like Plamenko’s works and you have the financial wellness to afford buying his works, support him and help him to continue making and producing his wonderful music by buying some of his albums in Amazon.

Plamenko is currently living and working in Copenhagen Denmark, as he found it’s nearly impossible to earn enough money in a legal way in Bulgaria to afford fulfilling his dream of buyig a house situated in the mountain.
In Copenhagen presently he is working as a postman, distributing newspapers at night with bike.
Last time, I saw him just about few weeks ago he went back for a Holiday in Bulgaria and said he haven’t seriously played his guitar for about a year because of being busy with his distributing newspapers works. He also told me doesn’t feel passion for playing.
This is quite normal, I guess since he couldn’t find appreciators of his music. Plamenko’s music is produced without any company label under by himself. He is manually copying his music to CDs producing CD covers etc. This kind of music producing is quite unique for today’s world, where most of the music is only done via mass production in factories.
If you’re living in Copenhagen, you can see Plamenko on the streets and tell say Hi.
Plamenko’s artistic pseudonim (Plamenko) comes after his passion to play Flamenco music and mix it with other music styles.
Plamenko’s band in which he is the only member is called Symphology and means Logic of the Somphony.
He works in city center of Copenhagen an unusual job just like his music.
His daily job there consists of standing still for hours, holding a big Advertising sign of a famous Copenhagen Tatoo Studio.

Enjoy his great music!

Graphical representation of Open Source history generated from SVN and GIT commits with Gource – Software version control visualization

Thursday, September 1st, 2011

A friend of mine has sent me a link to awesome videos produced with an open source tool called Gource

The tool is really awesome as its capable of producing amazing graphical visualizations from source tree repositories obtained from software SVN or GIT repositories

Someone used it to create a wonderful videos and relate the graphical visualization with wondeful music to show graphically the Software development for the main Free Software Projects. 😉

The points which move around in videos are graphical representation of the repository source, the nodes which buzzle around are users who commit source in the project repositories.
The whole graphical representation is being generated based on all the latest source hold inside the software repository, on top of the videos its visible the date of each of the source commits.
Below are few of the nice videos, the rest are available for checkout in Youtube, Enjoy! 😉

OpenOffice Development – Graphical representation

PHP Development – Graphical representation

History of Python development since 1990 with Gource

Development of MySQL 2000-2010 – Graphical representation

Perl development history in less then 4 minutes. Visualized with gource.

A friend of mine passed me the below, funny but somehow partly thruthful caricature:

How people used to do things in the past, and how they do it now o_O

The list with situations could be seriously extended 😉
I’m scared to think, how this caricature should look like in 10 years from now!

Few websites to check how anonymous you are on the Internet

Monday, April 11th, 2011

A friend of mine has recommended, few websites which are quite useful in checking what kind of information a remote website could possibly retrieve about your system. I’ve found quite useful as they expose the high level of browser security there is nowdays even on a Linux based systems.
I’ve been stunned that so many information about my Linux desktop could be mined even when I use my browser through a tor network.

Here are the websites you might also like to check and possibly afterwards improve your Browser security:

http://anon.inf.tu-dresden.de/help/jap_help/en/help/security_test.html
http://www.proxy-list.org/en/show-my-ip.php
http://leader.ru/secure/who.html

I was rather shocked that some information that could be retrieved on my Linux host could even reveal fundamental details about my Linux Desktop like a version of my currently running Linux kernel!

In the past I’ve blogged an article which is quite related to the topic of Internet Anonimity and Browser security

You might consider checking my old article How to improve your web browser security and better secure your personal identity privacy on the internet here
I will take some steps further to look on how to further decrease the amount of OS sensitive data revealed by my browser and will further blog when I find ways for better ways to anonimize my surging.
