    When I clicked Account settings, clicked Notifications, it showed Recent Notifications and All notifications. No profile setting to uncheck messages. Hope you can assist me further. Thank you.

    Hi JD,
    I guess facebook changed that you should be able to disable the annoying facebook mail notifications from:
    Account Settings -> Notifications
    Hope this helps,
    best

      I think you are referring to notification to my email inbox. Actually I was asking about status of facebook to my mobile. Nevertheless, thank you for the information. Problem solved.

    No apology needed :). What i did to stop notification from facebook to my mobile was this, when the text received from the network, just type ‘ FB OFF’ and reply to the sender. It depends on respective network. The other way I did was, clicked Account setting, then Edit Profile, then Contact Information. Delete your mobile number. I hope that will help IT illiterate like me. Lol
