Remember Domain Mismatch
Recently I came up to an ugly problem. The HAN university where I
study is filtering the 995 port therefore I could not login to
gmail, via gmails POP3 SSLed connection. Thus I configured an rdist
which is a tiny soft which makes lives easier when you have to set
up a port forwarding. I configured my Debian Icedove to use the
host where I had rdist running. Everything worked almost fine
except an ugly message appeared warning me that I'm accepting
certificate from a gmail host which is different from the host
where Thunderbird is connecting. The message appearing was: "Domain
Name Mismatch". I looked the net to find a solution also played a
bit with Icedove itself. Eventually I came along a nice small
thunderbird plugin which did the trick for me. The add-on is called
"Remember Mismatch Domains" and when activated does add a field on
the window with the warning offering a way to save the warning and
thus preventing it to occur again
