Skype on Nokia ExpressMusic 5800 with Fring
A friend of mine has bought a new Nokia Express Music 5800, yesterday evening
He wanted to use skype on his nokia so we played a bit together in installing an
app that provides skype on that mobile phone. There are two applications which run
on the phone. 1. Skype Lite downloaded from Skype's mobile phone version download page
However, the selected version was pretty old it was for Nokia 7370.
This solution worked out, unfortunately there was no skype voice calls on it, niether video calls.
2. We tested Fring For convenience reasons I did a mirror of the Nokia's ExpressMusic 5800, which by the way runs on top of Symbian OS ver. 9.4. Here is a link to the Fring for Nokia ExpressMusic 5800
We tested also the fring's skype protocol abilities, trying out both video and audio calls which prooved to work okay.
Nevertheless, during playing with the fring the program crashed once and required to be rebooted to return to proper operation mode.
Credits for this post go to Nomen who did most of the work on testing fring on his phone.
In the mean time tonight, a new year is approaching. Let's all hope this year will prove to be peaceful, fruitful and
full of grace for every inhabitant on earth.
In regard to the new year approaching I Wish you a Really, Really Happy and Peaceful New Year!

to provide a search engine for all your website content.
There is a now tutorial on how to install namazu on debian provided by

Few little SEO tips on indexing a website / webpage in a better fashion (Through usage of robots.txt and sitemap.xml)
As I've mentioned in my previous post
it's of vital value to have your website W3C compliant.
I'm trying to learn something more about SEO this days and therefore I found a website dedicated to
Search Engine Optimization discussing the importance of having the robots.txt file in each and every hosted
domain as well as the huge importance of generating sitemap for every web page out there in the Net.
More about robots.txt can be learned fromabout robots.txt's website
Here is a straigh forward robots.txt I choose to use to enable indexing of website without any restrictions
In few words sitemaps are used to better map content on a website as every SEO out there knows.
Here is a sample sitemap from the sitemap.xml I've generated for pc-freak.net's entry page
There are plenty of both online and standalone sitemap.xml generators on the net.
I've choosed to use an online service to generate my sitemap.xml after which I modified
the entries in the generated file manually.
I've also given a try to google-sitemapgen from the bsd port tree, however I wasn't able to use that soft to generate any sitemaps.
One of the most used and probably honoured project on sitemap generating is Google's sitemap Generator, check in Google for further info.
Another handy tip that helps indexing in search engines is including:

Importance for a website to be w3c compliant (validated)
Since some time, I'm working on an
old small websites I've created to make
them w3 compliant, the websites were coded quite a long time ago and the code
was completele crippled. It took me a lot of efforts to rewrite this shitty code
to something a bit more compliant. I've used mostly W3C's online markup validation services to check for errors .
Another thing I heavily used was Mozilla Firefox's Html Validator Firefox add-on
. Here is a list of the websites I checked for w3c compliancy:
Pc-Freak.Net (hip0's personal websites on everything)
PcFreak Security's website
The website of the small Linux Seminar that took place in Dobrich
Bylgarskata Pravoslavna Bibliq v PDF i DOC
The Cool FreeBSD ascii games online
Prorochestva na Pravoslavnite Svetii za Svyrsheka na Sveta .
After validating this websites for w3c compliancy, many of them that won't index
in Google started indexing. So my advice to everybody online who haven't validated
his websites code yet is to do so immediately! :)

Ping Utility (Service) for Nokia Communicator 9300i
I was looking for an app to diagnose
my network problems for my Nokia 9300i.
Luckily the company aspicore has created a handy app enabling the Nokia user to
do that through acping. Here is a link to a blog post which explains more about
acping and provides a download link for acping .
Enjoy!

It's Christmas ! Christ has been born some 2010 years ago back
It's Christmas! Our Lord and Saviour
has been born or in other words,
he's been incarnated and taken a bodily form to save us later on Golgotha.
It's joyous time, I've seen tons of old school friends and that made me quite
happy I've been drinking a bit more than usual yesterday. We spend most
of the night in Mino's place, listening to a lot of Motorhead and eating
Bread and wieners, with Alex, Vlado (UTP) and some other nice guys.
On 24th there was a nice Liturgy in The Holy Trinity local sanctuary.
I even took some action in helping the priests with in the Church Altar :)
Today an old school friend of my mother went home to say hi and to offer
us alternative way to get some money. Through some kind of distribution network
of a company called LR Health & Beauty Systems.
It was quite a propaganda and was pretty much irritating, not to say sect alike.
She presented the company like the ultimate way to get money through the
crisis fast and effective, they even have some gatherings with Company products
users. As you can suspect this is a complete BULLSHIT!. The company seems to have a whole strong system in which you have to add new and new circles of users to the company through a sort of evangelism throught your relatives or friends
, the more people you have attracted to use the company products the more money or company products discount you would receive.
They even offer Mercedes cars and all kind of bulky probably fraud prizes for golden users of the company, e.g. the users which recruit the most
ppl for the company.
She talk like 1.30 hour about the greatness of being this company user as well as the whole amount of money you save.
A lot of myths were involved a lot of lies as usual.
It seems this word of mouth marketing is even more annoying and terrible than the classical tv,radio, internet one.
I felt like obliged to inform you about the dangers of this company and it's propaganda, SO BEWARE, STAY AWAY of
"LR body and health systems" annoying word of mouth marketing. Well anyways gotta go now.

Windows XP Recovery Console (Or how to wipe up a MBR in Windows XP Pro)
I faced a problem with infected
Windows XP yesterday, which was pretty nasty.
The shitty Virus seems to be replicating itself to a brand new Windows installations,
even when I completely wipe up the hard drive with format.
I spend a couple of minutes in Google to find a way
to wipe the master boot record.
Seems like the good old days of:
The way to do fdisk /mbr on XP Pro is through Windows XP Recovery Console
It's pretty straight forward to install Windows Recovery Console, I had to simply follow the link above and follow Microsoft's
instructions.
Available tools through Windows Recovery Console are as follows:
However the ones of interest for me were:
1. fixboot
and
2. fixmbr
Whether the one that equals to fdisk /mbr is fixmbr.
This boot loader cleaner would warn you that there is certain possibility
that all data located phisically on your hard drives is at risk.
So Beware!
Happily using it in my case, was completely unarmful.
E.g. the tool worked like a charm and flushed the content of my MBR
In order to make Windows XP Recovery Console available as a choice during boot time,
Type the following commands (where X: is the CD Drive letter), and then press ENTER on your keyboard.
X:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons
I still have no clue if that would fix the situation with the Virus in MBR, right at the present moment a reinstall
of Windows is at hand.
I'll try to post later if that solution would fix the Windows Virus issues

Configuring server running both OpenSSHD and Apache to be accessed via HTTPS
I wanted to make this machine
accessible for both me and others also with a simple browser,
I was thinking about configuring this on pc-freak since some time now.
It took me a while until I found a program that does this for me, anyhow luckily I found it.
It's called webshell and is working pretty well. Check out the home page of WebShell for download and more info on it. I've succesfully installed it on FreeBSD 7.2.
All that is needed for the program to operate is python 2.3 or higher and python openssl (this is optional),
however most people would desire to have the service running over SSL thus this is mandatory.
On my FreeBSD box I had to install:
the port/package py26-openssl and subversion (this is a prerequirement in order to download the source via svn)
It also necessery to modify the
in freebsd that is:
Then I copied the downloaded source to
Tadam, it's up and running accessing it is as simple as pointing the browser
to a domain name or ip on which the python service is running
Currently the running webshell for pc-freak can be accessed via

Mirror of collection of java games for Nokia and various others java enabled mobile phones
I had a good plans to make my Nokia
communicator to a sort of game station, the ARM
cpu architecture included in the phone running on 150 Mhz as well as the 80MB of
conventional memory makes the mobile a great gaming platform.
I've crawled through google just to find a couple of cracked collections most of which
were downloaded via torrents or rapidshare.
I thought it would be a good idea to create a mirror of all this just in case if they are
no longer available via rapidshare or the torrents in the future.
Downloading or using the applications included in the archives comes absolutely on your own,
I don't take any responsibility for the software provided in the archives, so you're completely
on your own.
OK enough talk:

ASA2005 Nokia 9500 9300 92XX 91XX Appz n Gamez (Great Collection of Applications and Games for Nokia 9500 9300, 9300i 92XX 91XX Appz n Gamez) [ cracked ]
Some weeks ago, I was looking for
some extra applications for my Mobile (Nokia 9300i).
After some time spend in Google I was lucky to find a direct link to an extensive collection
of games and applications for Nokia Communicator Based mobiles, most of the packaged applications
work like a charm. However some of the applications cracks, doesn't work even though this is just
a tiny number of all the applications in the archive.
Somebody out there did a great job in compiling this nice cracked apps collection.
Here is a list of all the Nokia Communicator Software included in the "ASA2005 Nokia Appz n Gamez"
collection.
ones on your mobile. The overall of apps in the archive is 103. For further information about
each of the apps check in google.
Click here to download the ASA2005 Nokia Applications and Games archive follow this link .
Originally I've downloaded the archive above from rapidshare, I give or regard no any liability about how and why,
you're going to use this applications. What I did is simply I've mirrored the archive that is also available from rapidshare.
Hopefully this apps would enrich your smartphone experience just like it did mine :)

Nokia Communicator 9300i Call Register (Received Calls, Missed Calls, Dialed Calls) cannot delete problem
There is a terrible bug in the Nokia
Communicator firmware (the bug appears
in Nokia 9300i running Symbian Software Series 80 v2,
my Nokia (Control Center -> About Product) reports
version 5.50. The bug is really ugly since the phone fails to delete,
received calls, missed calls, dialed calls records.
It took me a while to track the error, however finally I got it,
thanks to a friend of mine who has experienced already the same on his phone.
The error was caused by something pretty dumb. OK enough gibberish, the problem is caused by a wrong system date!, how stupid, fixing the
date from Control Center is simply and effective fix. Even though that would
fix your phone so you can successfully delete in the future from call register,
you won't be able to see your received calls before you fix the issue.
Therefore after some googling I've found a nice software that is able to manage your call register logs in a much bug free way the soft I've found from rapidshare,
and luckily comes with a crack. You can download (Advanced Call Manager)
from the mirrored copy I made for you here Download Advanced Call Manager (ACM) version 2.51 (Cracked) .
Another great thing about Advanced Call Manager is that all
your in and out calls + missed calls are logged and ready to be found,
even those not showing up in the normal Call Register software that comes bundled with the phone.

Playing Day of the Tentacle on Nokia 9300i through ScummVM ! :)
A week ago I played a bit with my
Nokia Communicator 9300i phone.
I have a gamer background so the good old dos games as well as the
rest of the arcade video games I used to play in my youth has missed
me a lot. A quick search in Google revealed that the Free Software
Lucas Arts Emulator ScummVM
/> is able to run on the oldy Symbian OS on my smart phone Nokia Communicator 9300i.
It's an interesting fact that ScummVM stands for
(Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion Virtual Machine) :). Here is how the nice free soft enabled me to play the wonderful oldschool game:
Day of the Tentacle (or as more known in true gamers world Maniac Mansion 2).
1. I've used the following scummvm symbian mobile s80 release.
It was truly my pleasure that scummvm worked out of the box. Next I had to download
a version of Day of the Tentacle prepared to run directly with ScummVM from thepiratebay's
torrent tracker.
2. Here is a prepared to run version of the Day of the Tentacle (DOTT) game for scummvm .
In order to run the game, download the below tar archive untar it, and copy it to some dir
in your mobile. Next start your ScummVM and choose the directory where the game is stored.
And voila, the game works perfeclty.
I was amazed to see that the game could work so flawless on the Nokia.
Anyways I have to note that sometimes, game is a bit sluggish for a couple of secs.
It even crashed my phone once when I received a phone call during play.
Apart from this minor issues, it's really great to loose some time with this good oldy while
waith on the bus stop or travelling around. :)

GUI wep/wpa cracking through Gerix Wifi Cracker NG (GUI for cracking wireless networks)
I found a neat program that
facilitates work on cracking
a wep or wpa secured wireless network. The program is called
Gerix Wifi Cracker NG and is a part of the
backtrack penetration testinglinux distro
Gerix Wifi Cracker itself is located here , it's cool cause the author even has prepared a deb
package with the nifty GUI wireless cracker
. The slogan of the soft is also a killer, it reads:
"The software that even your grandmother knows how to use!",
a bunch of nice granda's pictures are included as well :)

New Google Public DNS Service
Google are hitting the community with
another interesting project.
Just recently Google have started a New Public DNS Service.
As it's explained in the Introducing Google Public DNS article.
The service could aim the end user with a faster DNS resolving service,
Basicly their DNS seems to be fetching routinely DNS records for all the domain
on the net (just imagine what kind of cluster system is required for that operation).
Google also claim that this new service could strengthen people's security, e.g.
DNS Spoofing tendts to be much more harder to achieve in order to spoof domain names.
All this sounds perfectly well, however in the same manner of security thought, it's interesting
Why haven't they mentioned the bad sides of using their public DNS?
It's pretty obvious that using their public DNS service could easily provide google with extra information about what kind of domains does people online resolve, that could even provide google with spoofing capabilities.
In other words everybody that would possibly use this service in the future could allow Google to spoof certain desired domains to point to a custom domain names.
Let's assume somebody would post some secret data which shouldn't be seen by ppl online, it's pretty simple for Google then to spoof the IP address to point to another modified copy of the domain.
I hope you got my thought.
As I said earlier another "evil" about the service is in the fact that probably Google would log what users tend to resolve.
I do value my anonymity online, so I don't want my resolved domains to be logged by a single corporation.
. I've tested the service and I would say the service is really light fast it prooved to be a bit faster than my personal local router BIND resolving service.
. In my personal view, this DNS public service along with all the rest
on the net controlled by millionaire corporations are simply efforts to more and more centralize the internet (set things in order) under the governance of a certain numbers of computer software/corporations
this I would say is against our basic human freedom and is putting the data online
more and more under control.
Everyone knows that the internet started as a project to connect people and extend their freedom,
anyhow this days things seems to turn around and people get more and more restricted/controlled day by day.
