The NCR DECISION MATE V is a single station, personal computer system. NCR DECISION MATE V spans the information processing spectrum from an 8-bit single processor to a dual 8/16-bit processor system.

Industry standard operating systems provide accessibility to a broad range of languages (such as BASIC, COBOL, and PASCAL) and supportive software tools to simplify day-to-day operations. Numerous application programs are readily available from NCR and software distributors. A business graphics application enhanced by color capabilities provides a valuable tool in the visual display of management information. In addition, versatile interface connectors give you the ability to plug-in standard NCR or other vendor peripherals and devices.

NCR DECISION MATE V retains the time-proven pattern for NCR standards that means high quality and reliability, and utilizes the latest concepts in ergonomic design. NCR DECISION MATE V offers high performance for the efficient processing of business, educational, scientific, and general applications.

The NCR DECISION MATE V features 64 KB RAM memory, a 12-inch high resolution monochrome and color video display, dual 5 floppy disks, and a detached alphanumeric keyboard. The video display has a separate internal graphic chip and memory. The keyboard has selection switches for major national languages, an industry standard joystick connector, and 20 programmable function keys.

The video display includes features that are optional, or not available, on other systems. A separate, built-in graphics computer controls its operations and images without reducing the capacity and performance of the 8-bit or 16-bit processor memory. This makes more RAM memory available for applications and supporting programs. The high resolution, 400 vertical-dot matrix characters offer greater clarity and crisp detail for both monochrome and color images.

Industry standard operating systems include CP/M-80® for the eight bit processor and CP/M-80® CP/M-86® or MS-DOS® for the dual 8/16-bit processor. Word processing capabilities offer an easy solution for composing and printing letters, memos, and reports.

Many software products are available from NCR. This software is packaged with high quality user documentation. Operating system software and documentation, installation and user manuals are shipped with each unit.

Optional features include unique, customer pluggable, external adapters for printer interfaces, communication interfaces, and memory modules. An integrated 5 Winchester disk with one floppy disk is also available.
