Not feeling well

Yesterday and today I feel like hell. I'm trying to pray a bit but still it doesn't help much, seems like I'm in a big temptation again. To be honest I'm sick of temptations, they were too much for me during the time. Still I hope God would fix the things for me.

Ubuntu Upgrade

The last two days I helped to Erty or(Ilmert) an albanian guy from the Hotel Management stream to first be able to read text on pictures made with a telephone. The bad thing was that the photos were made under an angle which made them almost unreadable. I first tried using some Gimp filters unsuccesfully, later I tried Irfan View's Swap Colors function. After a few tries with Color Swapping the pictures became more clear and easy to read. The day before yesterday Plamenko came home and as usual bringed with him a lot of nice videos and pictures of places in the mountains, rivers and waterfalls. Yesterday I took the laptop of my cousin Zlatina and upgraded the running there Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04 the upgrade was pretty straight forward. It seems nowheredays Linux management becomes more and more easy for the user. All that I have to do in order to upgrade was to follow literally this tutorial . I should say this is a first time I upgrade from a major Linux distribution to a newer one without having to fix a mess after the upgrade. Although I don't like Ubuntu I should say that the Ubuntu guys are doing a good job in making the Ubuntu Upgrade a piece of cake.

Passed Marketing

At last I passed that Marketing I exam. This is the 4th time I attend the exam. This was a re-re-re-resit. This is basicly an after liquidation. As usual I haven't really studied hard for the exam because I didn't have the time to. Yesterday I write down small notes on small cheat lists. On the exam I used them to copy everything from (Man there is not other way to take this exam, you have to know a tons of indistinguished very similar terms.) After that we went to the Chinese restaurant with one of my Turkish colleagues (Adil), Here is the time to add that Adil is a really cool guy :). I have to say that this exam was a direct response to a prayer because I and my grandma and my aunt prayed to God to help me pass that exam. Thanksfully It seems God heard the prayer and let me pass, so Glory be to the Holy one of Israel !!! :) Now let's go back to my vista research. Ten minutes ago I just installed a pack called "Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit" basicly it's designed to run on XP but it seems it also runs on Windows Vista without problems. The installator warned me that probably the program won't run correctly but on the opposite it just runs fine. Two interesting programs included are: linkspeed (which measures the bandwidth to a host) and pmon which is basicly like UNIX's top command. My sister has is Graduating School this year so we tomorrow close relatives and my family is going to celebrate that. A few minutes before a relatives (a cousins) from Bourgas had arrived. Right now I'm researching on windows commands reading the content on

The day, Today

The day started a bit normal. I did my morning excercise, then I prayed. I spoke with Dzemil (A macedonian colleague of mine) and we set up a meeting for 12:30, I ate. I received few calls from the office with requests to do few little things. At 12:30 I met Dzemil at the College restaurant. We spend some time talking with him and another turkish colleague. Then we went to speak with Bozhidar Bozhkov about the applications for Holland, what is the procedure of transfering from the college here to Arnhem Business School etc. Laters I went home and did some work on the servers and red and did my fourth cisco test. I went to my cousin and after that went to Javor, we went out with Ina and Javor for a coffee to Kukla. Afterwards I went home and played with Dynamips. For all that wonder what the hack Dynamips is. Well Dynamics is a Cisco emulator just like VMWare is an OS emulator with the exception that Dynamics is builded to run only Cisco's IOS. I found that nice Video tutorial Cisco Router Emulation Software Dynamips Video Tutorial, check it out here Here . Since I needed a Cisco IOS image and I'm not a Cisco customer I used torrents to download a collection of Cisco ISO's and used one of the isos to make it work on my Windows Vista. I have problems running it because of lack of permissions, caused by the famous UAC ( User Access Control ). The solution for me was to use a privileged command prompt and start, both the Dynamips sever and my custom configured simple1.net which connected to the server and loaded the cisco image. There is also a very nice and extended tutorial on the topic of Dynamips it's located Here . Alto today tested the previously installed Wireshark. Wireshark is a very nice substitute for iptraf for windows it has a nice and easy to use graphical interface, supports capturing and has lot of traffic analysis possibilities I strongly recommend it to anyone coming from a Linux/BSD background like me and searching for a nice Windows substitute for iptraf. Check out wireshark on the following URL . Now I'm going to change the topic and say a few words for my spiritual state. Today it was a hard day. I was tempted by the devil to think bad thoughts and did sinned for which I search forgiveness. Life it so hard I realize it more and more day by day. Very often old spirits which tormented me for a long time are trying to come back. I haven't smoked today also and again thanks for that should fly to God who delived me from this terrible vice. As a conclusion I should say that for everything I should thanks to God and pray for him to forgive my unfaithfulness.

Two successfully taken exams

Blessed be God, for he heard my prayers. I asked to pass the German re-exam. And HalleluYah! :) I did with 4.20. Also I have a mark of 3 on the other exam at Finance and Accounting II ! I was almost sure I would fail on that exam but still have prayed the night before the exam. Although I've most probably done from the Task given on the exam the same part as my collegues does I still got 3 ! HalleluYah! again two days passed from then but still the joy remains! :)

Also I went out for 2 hours with Javor and Bino. Now I'm reading a case about an assignment we have to hand in tomorrow. The case is concerning a fashion company called Zara. Opera!

Yesterday I and Alex went to an Opera. We watched Opera by Giuseppe Verdi called "La Traviata". It's the second time I see this opera, the first time was when I was still a puppil. Pretty awesome opera the actors were really good. And this classic music! Awesome! After the Opera performance I phoned to Ivo a.k.a. (Order)we went to a sort of pub which was extremely cheap considering the fact it was near the center and the food and drinks were really good. After all this we had a walk around in Varna and hitted the road back to Dobrich. Kimmo My finish colleague is leaving for Finland and was organizing farewell party. Unfortunately because of the Opera I was unable to go to the party. Yesterday was a really nice day considering that nice opera show. The bad news for me yesterday was that I didn't passed the written exam in German and I have to go to the re-sit at Tuesday. With the Lord's help I hope I would pass it :) Also I'm going to start for the Accounting exam because It's at Monday.

German Test and Oral Exam

Yesterday we had a national celebration day, the so called "Georgiovden". It's an Orthodox celebration and we celebrate the day in which a great martyr has beaten the devil with his faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The martyr is called St. Georgi and he is officially a patron of our town. Because I'm named on him. We usually here in Bulgaria have the tradition that everybody which is has a name starting with the "G" letter have to celebrate. Today at 12:30 we had Oral and Written exam in German. Man, I'm so poor in German. I haven't studied again for the exam and prayed a bit yesterday night just before I go to bed. Of course The Lord answered my prayer. HalleluYah! :) I have the mark of 5 on the Oral Exam. I still don't know the result from the written part but I hope God would grant me at least 3! The afternoon I had to work and at 5:30 or so I went to Ina's (a colleague) flat and we worked on our Marketing Planning, Market Plan project. At night I went to see my grandma for few minutes and went out to see Mitko (nomen), who by the way is here in Dobrich just for few days. Well that's most of how my day passed. BTW Lately I'm playing a lot with Windows Vista which came preinstlaled with my Laptop :) I'll maybe write some Vista hints in some of the next bloggings. I can end this post with the words The Lord is my refugee and my stronghold. Nobody would fail who trusts in The Holy One! :)

Long Weekend

For some reason it happens that this year the holidays are a bit stretched in time 7 free days! No work, no studies except my exams. We are in an exam session. I have to mention and thank God Almighty for being very gracious to me the last days. Also I should say I have 5 at SPSSS, and 4 at Organizational Behaviour. Talking about the organizational behaviour I managed to cheat on the OB exam thanksfully. I copied most of the stuff from my dear colleague Ina. Also I owe the 5 SPSS mark to her. Also another great news for me was that I was not required to attend the Business English exam, the teacher decided that I and another guy from the group Koko would be freed from exam because of our regularly class attendance and participation. All the above mentioned is just perfect unfortunately there are some bad news for me and in general my specialty and colleagues. It seems it's not planned for us to have a 3rd year here in the college it's anticipated that we may have the 3rd year of my studies in Arnhem and it seems The tusion fees and life expenses in Holland if I go there would be too high, we have the option to drop our studies for a year and hopefully wait a year until possibly maybe there would be a 3rd year in the college, unfortunately all this is highly hypothetical. Of course there is still time and I hope God would interfere to set up the best for me and us. Today I went to see my grandma a few times, I asked her to boil me my herbs, I should note I'm still drinking the herbs and I feel better day after thay for which Glory be of course to Our Heavenly Lord! She said no problem and boiled them for me. Hooray just perfect, Here I should emphasize that I really love my grandma and she is so Kind to me! The day was normal yesterday and today I went to Ina's home because we're supposed to make a Marketing Plan for the Marketing Planning discipline. The topic of the work is "Entrance of IKEA on the Bulgarian Market". In the group are Ina, Eva, Zori and me. Until know most of the job on the project is done. Of course it's because Ina is our group and she is a really awesome organizer and planner. She is a sort of project manager to us. We are working on the project for 2 days, I didn't participated much to it. I had to start studying for my next exam which is in German and is set for the coming Wednesday, the next week we also have to make a presentation in front of Phd. Todor Dyankov this is for the Marketing II subject. The last days I try to pich some time to play with Windows Vista on my laptop and also try to obtain some general knowledge of it. The day before yesterday I installed the Windows Vista SP1 which is said that improves the Vista performance a lot. I actually I followed and implemented some of the recommendations mentioned in this nice Windows Vista tweakening tutorial. Yesterday I was out with Static he came home and we installed some nice windows software on my new laptop. Here is what we installed: GOM Player - A nice video player, K-lite codec mega pack, the lynx text based web browser for Windows, irssi for windows. Also some days ago from Javor I found out there is a nice dock for Windows vista I strongly recommend it to everybody out there the dock is called RocketDock. A good free VNC client for windows for everybody who needs a VNC is called TightVNC. I also installed WiXKill which is basicly a xkill like program for windows. I googled around for some basic gnu programs like said and I come upon an interesting project called gnuwin32, check the it out here . Also while googling I found out there is an mc port for windows and installed it. I wondered if there is a good substitute for Nero Burning Rom but free a.k.a. GPLed, the guys from freenode ##Windows pointed me to a very nice cd/dvd burning software called InfraRecorder . The other programs I installed was WinSCP (SFTP client for Windows), Last.FM Client. Here I should open a brackets and say that recently I found out that Last.FM Client program is also ported to FreeBSD so I installed it on jericho (my desktop pc). What was interesting to me was that Last.FM's source code was licensed under GPL2. Yesterday I and static watched a movie from Cartoon Network called Ben 10, the film is produced by Cartoon Network. I never suspected that Cartoon Network produces movies. Today at the evening I went to Ivailo and Zlatina's second hand furniture shop. They have just returned from Holland and they have bought a lot of new furniture. There was very interesting things I never thought there were such things existing :) Singing bottles, barometers with thermometer and clock in one, old fashioned seals, very beautiful paintings! All kind of weird and beatiful stuff a man can think of :) A bit later I went to Bino's home and stayed there for few times installed him a sidebar dock like the Vista's sidebar dock but for XP, and we went out for a coffee. That's mostly what's happening around me. For all this I should say that the Lord's grace and love surrounds me everywhere I go and the only thing I can do is bless his Holy Name and say Hallelujah! (Glory to the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit) now and forever and ever! Amen!
