What does Windows XP stands for?

Even wondered what Windows XP stands for. Well I did today since,
there is familiarity with slavonic equivalent of "Christ" or as it reads
in slavonic "Xpuctoc". According to the explanation I found on the net
reads "The XP in Windows XP stands for "eXPerience"."
Still it it's true why they don't simply call it "Windows EX" or NC.
I believe this abberviature chosen was included also because it's
spiritual meaning. Could it be that some of Microsoft's team which
selected and approved the Operating System name be involved in the occult?
Well that won't be strange to.
Okay let's say this is a "weird coincidence". What about the loud name vista?
The first meaning that I can find on the net according to thefreedictionary.com stands for:
"Volunteers In Service To America?". Volunteers in Service to America?!
What the crack do I look like or want to be a volunteer in Service to America?! DO I?!
NO! I want to be in service only to the Lord Jesus of Nazareth (The Christ), the son of God who's been risen from the dead in the third day according to the scriptures and has ascended to heaven
and currently stands in the right hand of God!. The one who will come again a second time to Judge the Living and the dead!
Okay let's say this is a nonsense, let's pick up the original Explanation for Vista from Microsoft
and delve into it.
The original Microsoft Text reads: VISTA = "Visual Technology Age"
Well if that's the case why don't they simply call it Windows V or Windows VTA?
There is even more symbolism to Christianity in the Visual Technology Age abreeviature,
you know we christians believe in the Holy Trinity (God The Father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit).
Good now let me apply our Christian believe to the 3 words hidden abbreviature behind VISTA,
Could it be that Visual Technology = God the Father (Visual/Dreams stands as a basis a human understanding),
(Technology = God the Son since it's born from Human efforts imitating the divine birth of our Lord Jesus),
Age = (The Spirit of the Age, e.g. the Spirit of the Antichrist whose been proclaimed that has entered the world
since the holy apostles times. Even if we continue to look for some similarities VISTA is a piece of 5 bits,
just like the name given to man to be saved the name before each race and tongue should bow and confess as a Lord and Saviour
Jesus!
Could that be a fraud? Is it a weird coincidence the enormous popularity of Windows XP even thought, it's
so broken and people hate it? I think it's not a coincidence. Just like I think it's not a coincidence that they called
Windows the operating system, what kind of Windows could this be? Could be a Windows opened next to hell from where
all kind of unclean spirits transfer to earth? Yes I know that people online could give a plenty of other explanations.
However here is one of the explanations I've found on the net:
"Because its a window to the world, you have access to things outside your town, house, room etc."
Here is the time to tell that we have an orthodox christian saints that prophecied about computers and
it's closeness with the spiritual realm.
Well I know that there are many assumptions in the above post, however I really thing that there mostly probable.
I remember now another real odd thing, that I stucked upon some time ago, while making research on the number of
the beast or the so famous 666 that we read about in Revalations in the Holy Bible. The Bible explains that what will stand for the mark of the beast is 666, right? So far so Good
It seems the WORD COMPUTER contains the number 666 in it. Here is how you can calculate it for yourself, if you don't
believe. It's said in the bible that "6 is a human number", triple 6 stands for the Holy Trinity imitated by satan the human way
(e.g. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit), we also know that Satan is the father of all lies.

Counting the above explanation, here is how to calculate that the WORD COMPUTER has 666 in it's name.
Assign numbers to the English Alphabet, like the following:
A = 6, B = 12, C = 16 and so on.

C 3 x 6 = 18
O 15 x 6 = 90
M 13 x 6 = 78
P 16 x 6 = 96
U 21 x 6 = 126
T 20 x 6 = 120
E 5 x 6 = 30
R 18 x 6 = 108
===============
Total: 666!
Could that be a weird coincidence, again?
I definitely thing this ain't a coincidence!
Please check out also the following webpage , for some of the words that are equal to 666, it's a real interesting reading. Well The prophecies are being fulfilled full time, and it seems, we couldn't notice it!
Beware research and pray that our Lord Jesus Christ has mercy on us and grant us the knowledge to be aware of the kingdom of the antichrist and to escape from it

A small journey to Obrochishte and Batovo villages

Thanks to Ceco (a young orthodox friend of mine, a really cool guy), we made a nice quick organized journey to Obrotishte. The main purpose of the trip was to go to a liturgy to the Church there in Obrotishte and also to visit the Hieromonk Philip (Filip) who is at the present moment priest in the Church there. Father Philip is a really interesting monk, he is currently 28. As most people could understand it's really unusual this days for someone to become a monk, it's even more unusual for somebody to become a monk in such a young age. Father Philip has been a monk in Troyan Monastery which presently is among the largest operating monasteries at the moment in Bulgaria. Father Filips is a wonderful person, the church service started a bit later than usual in around 09:20 in the morning, what struck me was that the whole service was held in plain understandable modern Bulgarian language, that shined some light (understanding) on the liturgy and was possibly better than in Church Slavonic language, which is hardly understandable for us Bulgarians in the present age. Another good thing I loved about the service, that Father Filip led the liturgy and accomplised all the priest prayers and entreats in a slow understandable way. Seems like the young monk and a father is a real church father, because he was absolutely kind and loving to me Ceco and Rumiana (a christian girl we picked up from another village before we went to the service in Batovo). Another kind thing from Father Filip was that he refused to get any money for writting some names which are usually mentioned on the next liturgy in front of God on the Holy Altar, for the living (that God forgives their sins, and grants them good health, and success in their works) and for the dead (For God to forgive their sins and remember them in it's kingdom). After the wonderful Church service we get into Ceco's car with Father Filip and went and had a nice evening and had a nice lunch in a small restaurant in one of the nearby villages to Obrochishte. We also had a nice talk with the father and with Ceco about different things concerning our christian orthodox faith and other spiritual talks. I'm thankful to God for granting me such a wonderful day. After the nice lunch time, we went to Batovo (A village situated North-East in Dobrudja's region). Batovo is famous with Batovo's river which flows directly through the village, another thing to see in the village is a holy spring, some nice woods. The village itself is also a nice place to be. They have two springing water fountains one of which seems to be built up from communists during the communist atheist regime in Bulgaria. It's a real miracle evidencing God's disapproval for the communists because soon after the springing fountain has been built by the communists it run dry. Hieromonk Philip has prayed near the dried up fountain to God, that God gives his blessing from heaven and allows this dried up water spring to become a springing one that would be a springing place from now on unto the ages of ages. After that we moved on to the center of Batovo's village where we met a nice gypsy family (romi as we call them in Bulgaria), it was an interesting thing that this people were deeply religious. They had a deep hunger for God they shared that they do attend both evangelical and orthodox church to light up candles or pray and they don't understand the difference. Father Philip has briefly explained the difference and explained the importance to attend the true church of our Lord Jesus Christ which is the orthodox church and told them if the guys have more questions they could go anytime to the Church in Obrochishte and he would answer them as many questions relating faith as he could. The discussions between the monk me, Ceco, Rumiana and the father was a real blessings, Praise the Lord! However all isn't perfect and life is far away from bed of roses. On our way back while we were traveling with Ceco and Rumiana my aunt called to inform me my grandma is having difficulties with her speaking (which as she said could be caused by a heart strike... That struck me light a lightining from a blue sky... I got desperated, thanksfully Rumiana and Ceco probably prayed for me and my grandma because presently she is a bit better. Still we have to see how my beloved grandma would be tomorrow after she has a sleep. I'm really concerned for her because she is one of the people that cares for me the most in this life. She loves we like she loves her soul, the same strange love that Jonahattan and David shared in the story told in our Old Testament. I and guess we the christians should learn from my grandmother's godliness and christian life. She is one of the few that possesses God this days, as she is saying often she is ready to give her soul for me just like our Lord Jesus Christ has loved us so much that he gave his life for us the sinners ... I just hope and pray that God hears my and my christian fellow mate prayers and grant my grandma good health! Thanks to God for everything! Just to clause the post I have to mention my big thanks to Lily and Plamen a friends of mine who sustained me this two days with care, talks and prayers. I just pray God helps them the same as they had helped me!

Nokia Communicator 9300i connection via Bluetooth on Debian GNU/Linux Unstable

I wanted to connect my Nokia Communicator 9300i device via bluetooth on Linux on
my Thinkpad running Debian GNU/Linux unstable. By default my bluetooth is disabled
because I usually do not use the bluetooth.
To make the bluetooth back running I had to issue the command:

# echo "enable" > /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth

Next the bluetooth-wizard came to play:

# /usr/bin/bluetooth-wizard

and then I had to follow the intuitive dialogs, a 4 digit code was generated by my Linux system the whole system was required to be provided
on the Nokia Communicator.
The only left thing is to use gnome's bluetooth-applet "Blowse Files" feature.
Here is a screenshot showing up the bluetooth-applet in case if you wonder how the app looks like
Bluetooth Applet
In case if bluetooth-applet is not appearing as an applet in your gnome panel. You might need to:

# /usr/bin/gnome-control-center

- Search for the Bluetooth menu:
Make sure the "Show Bluetooth icon"'s tick is presented
Last thing to note is that I tried using the bluez-gnome debian package
as a mean to communicate with the Phone unsuccesfully. As far as I could understand
from a couple of posts I've red online the Nokia communicator requires the obex
protocol to communicate data. This is not supported by bluez-gnome.
I've also red a couple of interesting posts which explained how to use p3nfs to mount your telephone via the unix nfs protocol
There is an old article explaining how to do the mount via p3nfs in Ubuntu which
can be red here
Even though the transfer works in general there are some unpleasent things
There are some odd slowness while browsing the micro sd sometimes.
There are also issues when creating new directories via gnome's nautilus browsing manager.
By default directories while created with a name "untitled folder" cannot be renamed later on
If a rename attempt is made the file browser hangs. Another annoying problem I'm facing is when
I do try to copy or move files from the sd memory card of the phone to the card itself,
if I try this procedure after that the gnome file manager fails to list correctly the data
included in the micro sd card and then I have to remount the device in order to make it ready
for file transfers from my PC.

Weird Delux 5201 keyboard problems on Linux

I own the shitty Delux 5201 keyboard. On Current Debian Testing/Unstable, a weird keyboard problem occurs. The problem consists in "wsx" keys, refusing to work. It's really annoying, sometimes all the keyboard keys work, other times they don't ... Complete insanity!

The insanity of our Generation

Few days, ago there was a chaos (techno) party. I'be been invited
by a lady in facebook, therefore I decided to drop by and check
what is going on there. I haven't been on a party for quite some
time I personally have never really liked such a parties.
Thereby what I might have shared could be not quite adequate,
however I think as a general stream of logic what I'll say is true.
1. The first thing that stroke me on the party was the people behaviour. It's insane seriosly people nowdays doesn't communicate at all.
Most of the people were dancing (self pleasing), and looking for something
to happen. I can bet even that most of them had no preference for the type
of music played. There were some laser lights like in the trance/techno parties.
2. What is the purpose of such a party? Isn't it to meet new people to have a great time,
to learn from it, possibly maybe?
Nope this one's purpose wasn't. Many of the people there would just hang around
with a coke or a beer at hand, probably looking for somebody to start a dialogue
with them, even thought it looked like most of the time that won't happen.
3. What is the moral of parties like that?
Look cool? Show your new dress or a haircut? Make some new friends?
My personal understanding is it's completely meaningless, not to mention
that you had to be high to really enjoy such a non-sense.
I think this party and many others in the same fashion represent our whole
generation. A generation who lost it's track and sense of a purpose,
a generation who has accepted, life has no greater meaning higher than
what they can perceive or understand. Otherwise said a generation without
Faith, without an ordered believe system. A chaotic mass without any sense
of the Divine ...

How to "Enabling your blog posts posted to nanoblogger to be also imported to your wordpress"

I wanted to simulatenously have all my nanoblogger posts imported as well to my wordpress on pc-freak.net/blog .
To achieve that I've came with a small shell script.
Here is the script itself import_to_wordpress.sh .
The script depends on the nb_2_wordpress.py script.
To make my import_to_wordpress.sh script execute every I have a new entry in nanoblogger I've edited my nb
bash script which is part of nanoblogger and I've inserted the line:
/usr/local/sbin/import_to_wordpress.sh, right before the last "exit 0" command statement.
So now everytime I use nb -a entry to blog a new entry the content of my entry goes to my wordpress as well,
quite cool :D

Installing hardware RAID monitor on IBM xseries 345 model 8670, IBM Server RAID monitoring via IBM's RAID software RaidMan on 32 bit (i386) Debian Etch

Following my prescriptions the company where I work for has bought two hard drives for one of the
servers we use for website hosting. The two drives are with capacity of 80GB. Yesterday I spend
part of the day communicating with the tech support in the colocation center in (Evolink) Sofia
Thanks God the hardware raid building has been succesfully managed by one of my colleagues working in Evolink.
However he mentioned that some kind of warnings were present in the previous existing RAID 1 array.
To be honest I've never thought before about monitoring the RAID array, before the tech support
guy suggested. To build the hardware array during boot, (Kalin), that's how the technical support in Evolink
is called, he had to download the cd with software for our IBM xseries 8670, and then boot up from the cd
following the instructions in the Server manual to build the array. Anyways that obviously went smoothly
as I've already said. Taking in consideration his suggestions of monitoring the drives in the RAID array.
I did some research in Google and came across the following Ubuntu's forums thread Monitoring utility for IBM ServerRAID .
The thread dealt with converting the original RPM package bundled on the IBM software original CD to
a deb package in order to make it properly installable and integrated into debian based systems (debian, ubuntu).
Since our current OS of choice on the IBM server is Debian Etch linux, I had the follow the part in the Article
from the post dealing with 32 bit rpm package conversion. Everything explained in the forum worked out-of-the-box
happily, no settle backs occured. Thus I'll present the steps here literally required to be partaked to achieve
the proper install:

1. Download the IBM ServerRAID application CD from IBM Support's Website
Link to the ISO at the time of writting this post can be obtained from IBM ServerRAID application CD ,

just make sure you use a browser and accept the license agreement before the download proceeds
2. Install the following 3 packages,
# apt-get install alien fakeroot libstdc++5

3. link sort required, cause in Redhat sort is located on a different place
# ln -s /usr/bin/sort /bin/sort

4.Mount the downloaded iso
# mount -o loop ibm_sw_srapp_9.00-16973_anyos_32-64.iso /media/cdrom

5. Copy rpm to /some/directory and convert it to .deb package
# cp /media/cdrom/linux/manager/RaidMan-9.00.i386.rpm /some/directory
# cd /some/directory
# fakeroot alien -c RaidMan-9.00.i386.rpm
Next tweak some scripts to make it Debian/Ubuntu native

6.
# mkdir -p raidman_9.00-1_i386/DEBIAN

7.
# dpkg -x raidman_9.00-1_i386.deb raidman_9.00-1_i386/

8.
# dpkg -e raidman_9.00-1_i386.deb raidman_9.00-1_i386/DEBIAN

9.
# vim raidman_9.00-1_i386/DEBIAN/postinst

10.
# (remove the line containing "chkconfig --add raid_agent"
Next open:
# vim raidman_9.00-1_i386/DEBIAN/postrm
# chkconfig --del raid_agent

11.
# dpkg -b raidman_9.00-1_i386/ raidman_9.00-1_i386.deb
12. Now install the new .deb raidman package
# dpkg -i raidman_9.00-1_i386.deb

13. With God's help everything should go smoothly and now you should have
a working raid monitoring software on your Debian Server
To start the raid agent issue the command:

# /etc/init.d/raid_agent start

Here is also a download link to raidman_9.00-1_i386.deb

Translation in Bulgarian of prophecies of the Elder Lavrentii and St. Abba Pambo concerning the coming of the Antichrist and the end of the world

Here is the link,
to the translation of our Elder Lavrentii's prophecies concerning matters like the end of the world, the coming of the antichrist, etc.
Elder Lavrentii used to be a monk during the 19th century and had the gift of clairvoyance.
Another translation I've made is of the prophecies is to one of the words, Abba Pambo (An early Church Father)'s
prophetic words on the end of the world and the situation in the spiritual life and church right before the coming of the Antichrist and other important such alike matters
Abba Pambo's prophecies can be seen here

You can read this interesting prophecies and instructions directed to us the
contemporary christians. One of the main points is that we should master gluttony before it masters us.
Because it's gluttony which could drive us into accepting the mark of the Anrichrist
on our right hand and the forehead. Here is a link to the translated text to Bulgarian St. Ephraim the Syrian and St. Kosmas Aitolos's prophecies concerning the Antichrist

My experiments with Gimp, create a big picture out of many pictures

Two days ago I wanted to learn how to create a collective picture ouf of many pictures. It was easier than I thought, all I needed to do is:
1. Open the different pictures through different layers through the:

File -> "Open as Layers"
2. On each and every picture select the whole picture
through the:
Select -> All menus
3. Open a New picture and copy paste all the selected layered pictures to the New one.
4. Scale the pictures via the "Scale Tool" making sure that all the pictures are scaled to the same geometry.
5. Move the pictures using the "Move Tool" to allign them together.
Done!
In my case I made a picture containing the pictures and icons of one of our famous Orthodox Saints:

The protest against Jahovah Witnesses, Trip to Karapelec and an ancient thracian sanctuary

As most of the Sundays I was to the Orthodox Church for the liturgy.
Today we celebrate in the bulgarian orthodox church, the saints
who took participation in the 7th church universal gathering,
as well as the memory of st. Apostle Philip who was one of the
12 direct despiples of the Lord Jesus, even more we celebrate the memory of
St. Theophan (the drawed) the text in the link is in Bulgarian. In short this holy church father
was zealous defender of the veneration of icons.
After the liturgy we headed to the hall where the sect of Jehovah's witnesses
had held one of their International congresses discussing how near the end of the world is.
No strange since that's basicly what they do all the time, they talk about the end,
this is extremely dangerous non-christian sect which is satanist in it's origins,
however it's covered by preaching of pseudo Judeism without Jesus.
We held a protest with members of VMRO and Ataka (a nationalistic political party here in Bulgaria).
The priest explained to the audiency the Truth about Bulgaria and the simple fact
that our country has survived over the centuries solely to our true Faith
the Orthodox Christian faith. He explained that we should remember how the Holy
Brothers st. st. Cyril and Methodius has gifted us with the true faith which is
the Orthodox Faith, how thanks to them we have received the bulgarian, alphabet
and written letters. He also mentioned the Holy Tzar Boris who officially introduced
the orthodox faith as a our natunal country faith and how that has hold us together
in truth for all this years until now. He then outlined some of the many false doctrines
of Jehovah's witnesses who's one and only goal is to mislead people astray.
Some of them are their refusal to blood transmission, their refusal to accept country
national symbols, the army, the established country institutions etc. We also prayed with many orthodox
prayers asking the holy fathers and the Holy Theotokos to save us and intercade
in front of our God the Holy Trinity and with their holy prayers to chase out
the sects out of our country.
Earlier while we were still in the Church, Father Veliko the Priest in service
for the liturgy in the sermon has explained that Jehovah Witnesses take participation
in the attempts of some people to establish global government headed by the Antichrist
for whom we read in Revelations, the refusal of country and signs is one of their filth
actions to seperate us from our culutre and tradition and unite us into
the fake global reality the antichrist is about to introduce in the coming future.
After the protest I and Ceco his girlfriend and another girl I know for quite some
time went to a small trip to Karapelec's Church and to the ancient thracian sanctuary
located some 20 km away from the Village of Karapelec.
Sadly we could only look in the church through it's closed windows, because it seemed
to be closed for at least a year or so. After we took a brief look on the Church's
outside interior, we took a small walk around near the small lake situated 50 meters
from the Church. After that we went to that Ancient Thracian Sanctuary.
There wasn't much to be seen in the sanctuary, a few caves and stones, some of which served
as a sort of altars where the thracians has sacrificed to their Gods.
The exact type of the sacrifices is yet unknown, however it's assumed that
they sacrificed animals and probably humans. On the center of the altar the guide sign red
that it's found a human bone remains right under the so called altar,
this makes the assumption for human sacrifices, even more probable.
Though I was far from impressed to know that I might be visiting a place where
a lot of human suffering has happened, the walk in the near forest alley was quite enjoyable
, not to mention the nice talks with Ceco Dima and Perus :).
Thanks God one more good day for me!

Linux, SKype and Microphone issues again

After some of the upgrades I've installed in my Debian unstable. the command:
amixer set 'Input Source' 'Internal Mic

is not working anymore. After testing many things, I've
realized the problem consists in alsamixer's settings.
Here is the fix:
# alsamixer -Dhw

Raise up the microphone sound level to a higher state.
Then testing it in audacity it worked fine.

Changing the default perl CPAN mirror

I'm fighting a problem with one of the websites transferred from
one server to another not correctly uploading pictures.
After some extensive search I find the problem lays in a missing
perl CPAN Image::Magick. The server where the website is temporary
stored is an ancient Fedora Core 1, therefore installing that peace
of CPAN wasn't an easy task. It seems the default soted mirror for
CPAN modules is no longer hosting CPAN. To solve the issue, I had
to change the default CPAN mirror. Following the suggestion from
some online blogs in order to change the CPAN mirror I issued:
# perl -MCPAN -e shell
cpan> o conf init

To select the proper mirror I used the ones stored in CPAN mirror list
after that I issued commands:
# perl -MCPAN -e shell
cpan> install "Image:Magick"

It was no strange the build failed considering the fact that fedora is pretty much ancient.
Eventuall I've downloaded the ImageMagick-perl-5.5.6-13.legacy.i386.rpm and manually installed it:
rpm -ivh ImageMagick-perl-5.5.6-13.legacy.i386.rpm

Done! Problem solved. Let's go on to the next server challenge.

Howto Recover crashed InnoDB tables in MySQL

After the server crash, last week. I'm busy with recovering some of the data.
I was fortunate that our dedicated technical Support in valueweb at last has
succeeded to bring our server with a failed hard drive online for a couple of hours.
I couldn't login to the server via SSH, though luckily I could login through rsync as well
as through sftp.
The first thing I did right after I was able to access the server was issuing:
# rsync -azve ssh root@my-broken-server:/var/lib/mysql/ mysql
Where /var/lib/mysql contained all my sql binary data:
I've used a couple of similar rsync commands to also backup my /usr/local/mysql/
I attempted to also copy some of the other websites data (php, html, css, javascript, jpegs) etc.
But I could copy only partly some of the files before the server hard drive started loosing temper and failing up
I have to say I've prayed the Lord Jesus to help me recover this data from the MySQL server since it was so vital for our company to have a working copy of the sql data.
Well Hallelujah! For The Lord has heard my prayers and now I have a shiny binary copy of all the MySQL databases.
Next I proceeded extracting the needed database. To succeed with that I had to run the old MySQL server on a different
port from the standard SQL port 3306. I chose to use port 3308, here is the command I used to bring up the old sql server as a second SQL server on the host
# where as you can see -P defines the server to run on port 3308, --skip-grant-tables is an option
# I had to provide because I couldn't remember the root mysql password
# --datadir specified where your mysql binary data is located

# /root/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe -P 3308 --skip-grant-tables --datadir=/usr/local/backup/mysql \
--pid-file=/tmp/mysqld1.pid --socket=/tmp/mysqld1.sock --log-error=/var/log/mysqld1.log

The command above won't work at first, in the /var/log/mysqld1.log I have noticed the following error:
[ERROR] Fatal error: Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table 'host' is read only

After checking in Google I've realized there had to be something wrong with my /usr/local/backup dir permissions
To fix that I had to issue chown -R mysql:mysql /usr/local/backup dir
At first my mysql binary data was located in /root/backup/mysql; Thus even though I changed the permissions
of /root/backup/mysql with chown the mysqld_safe won't run still, after some time I've found out that
the permissions issues I was experiencing was because the user "mysql" cannot enter to the /root directory, because
of root directory has permissions making it accessible only for root user.
After moving /root/backup to /usr/local/backup and issuing the mysqld_safe command above all worked like a charm.

Next I continued dumping some of the databases:
# /root/mysql/bin/mysqldump -P 3308 db -r db_dump.sql

Unfortunately one of the databases had some corrupt tables:
Table './database/table' is marked as crashed and should be repaired

I tried to repair the corrupt table with the following command:
mysql> repair table table_name;
mysql> repair table table_name extended

Mifrotunately that couldn't fix my corruped table:
I followed some online suggestions to use the myisamchk repair tool:
# /root/mysql/bin/myisamchk /usr/local/backup/mysql/database_name/table_name.MYI

myisamchk has informed me that the table is corrupt and urged me to execute
# myisamchk -r or -o as a fix.
So I executed:
/root/mysql/bin/myisamchk -r /usr/local/backup/mysql/database_name/table_name.MYI
Happily this time the broken table got fixed so I successfully dumped the table using mysqldump.
Thanks God! :)

DNS domains expiry problems and their fix

Already for a week the company I'm employed at is missing their
primary DNS server, because the server on which it runs has failed. This is meek to say ridiculous, however this is another topic of conversation.
As a result of all this mess today many domains stopped resolving
because the DNS entries in the DNS cache has expired
(default they are kept for 1 week).
Logically the fix to this shitty problem comes to changing the default
cache to be stored for more than 1 week. Thus I've changed that
default cache expiry with a little bash expression, here is
the expression itself:
# here comes your directory with zone files
cd /var/cache/bind
# 604800 is 1 week in seconds it's substituted recursively to 3024000 (5 weeks)
for i in *; do perl -pi -e 's/604800/3024000/g' $i; done

This solves the issue temporary, anyways being without a primary DNS server for so long ain't a good idea at all.

Recursively resize images within a directory with ImageMagick's convert

I needed to resize a whole directory containing pictures in 2048x1536 resolution
to a lower resolution to make a bunch of photos suitable for uploading to orthphoto . Orthphoto is a nice Orthodox website containing pictures relating to Orthodox Christian faith, you can see there many
categories in which are included a lot of churches sorted by countries, monks, holy relics, landscapes, everything
you can visual you can imagine somehow related to Orthodox Christainity.
To achieve that I used convert which is a part
of ImageMagick ,
(a collection of nice console programs to edit, convert and compose images).
Here is the code I ussued to convert all the images contained in a certain irectory from their
default image size resolution (2048x1536) to (640x480) pixels.
The program I used to convert the images is called convert
Here is how:

cd /some/dir;
quality="64";
for i in *; do
name=$(echo $i|sed -e "s#\.# #g"|awk '{ print $1 }');
convert -resize 640x480 -quality $quality $i ${name}_res.jpg; done;

The above code would resize all the images in /some/dir to a resolution 640x480.
Further it could easily be scripted to make it execute via php or any other web oriented
language.
It's an interesting fact that using Gimp to convert the image would resize images compressing
the output images a way better. Gimp usually saves you something like +30kb or even more,
while the quality is better than convert's.
However I have to investigate further how to script the same thing via Gimp.

Migrating nanoblogger to wordpress

I'm looking for a way to migrate nanoblogger to wordpress
for some time now.
At last I succeeded following The converting a Nanoblogger to an XMLRPC article. I've downloaded the file included in the blog which I've mirrored here (nb_2_wordpress.py)
To complete the migration I first had installed wordpress.
After that I've issued command similar to:
cd /var/www/nanoblogger/data;
for FILE in `ls *`; do /root/nb_2_wordpress.py \
2009-08-06T16_55_48.txt wordpress_admin_user wordpress_admin_pass \
http://pc-freak.net/blog/xmlrpc.php; done

What this script does is import the .txt files from the nanoblogger data directory through
the wordpress xmlrpc interface using the user and password.
My imported blog to wordpress is available here pc-freak.net/blog/ .

Gnome 2.26 to gnome 2.28 System menu icons disabled (icons not showing/disappeared)

I've just upgraded to Gnome 2.28 from 2.26 on Debian unstable. Everything seems
to be cool in shiny in the new gnome 2.28. However I've noticed that the icons in gnome panel
System menu are not showing a well as the icons for "Search For Files" and "Places" are
missing as well. After consulting with a guy named borschty in ##gnome irc.freenode.net
I found out that the default behaviour of icons in menus has changed in Gnome 2.28 so if somebody
likes to have it back activated here is how:
In:
System-> Preferences-> Appearance-> Interface
Here tick the "Show icons in menus" option
Now your icons should appear back in the menus.
More about this kind of issues can be red on the following blog.
Cheers :)

No sound via pulseaudio in gnome 2.28 Debian unstable after upgrade and a simple fix

I've upgraded to gnome 2.28 on my Debian unstable. I was not surprised
to find out that sound is not working again. After some general debugging and testing :).
I've found the solution. The solution is to simply delete .pulse and .pulse-cookie
rm -rf ~/.pulse
rm -rf ~./.pulse-cookie
Now restart pulseaudio:
killall -HUP pulseaudio

Hopefully sound now should be flowing right through your speakers.

Fix to problems with torrents not downloading with transmission on Debian unstable and Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty

There is a problem on Ubuntu Jaunty and Debian unstable with torrents not downloading with
the default torrent downloader transmission. I've noticed in transmission's configuration files
it's configured to use a port for "Incoming Connections" with number 51413. Anyways my machine is
behind a router and has a local IP address and consequently is not accessible through
the outside world on that port. Therefore I had to configure my router to do
port redirect (port forwarding) of port 51413, that fixed my torrents download
issues on my Linux.

Configuring easy access and Internet keyboards on Linux (lineak)

I've bough a media keyboard yesterday, since I ran Debian I needed
a way to configure my keyboard. After some research online I found lineak .
Lineak does have support already for many Linux keyboards key sets.
However my keboard Delux K5201 was not supported. Thus I'll now
follow the documentation to make it fully work with my Debian Linux.
Anyways surely the project will be helpful for many whose keyboards
are supported on Linux through lineak.
Seems that most of the easy access keys on my Delux K5201 kbd are working corretcly. 70% out of all the easy access keys are working out of the box. The keys that don't work and are most vital are the "Shutdown Button" and the "Mail button".

Orthodox Prophecies about the End of The World and the Coming Antichrst, The Second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

Two days ago while I was looking for various Orthodox related writtings, I found some interesting
places containing many prophecies of saints concerning the rule of the antichrist and the coming end
time terrible days. What the saint prophets say is more than scary. Most of the signs described to be
seen in the end times are already present. I've mirrored the website of orthodoxheritage - a newsletter published by the Greek Orthodox Brotherhood of St. Poimen, a 501 here .
The link to the orthodox prophecies is located here . I've also mirrored many other pages I found online
on a custom user site in geocities .
Here is a link to the mirrored pages with orthodox prophecies concerning end times

Some of the mentioned things that struck me was:
1. People will be attached to their gadgets more than to their relatives ( already happening)

2. People to be not having lack

3. Will communicate everywhere freely like they're in the same room ( already fulfilled)

4. People will fly in the clouds and dive into the oceans (fulfilled)

5. Many churches will be rebuild and made their cupola made wonderfully ornated (fulfilled - interesting to note
that old orthodox churches's cupolas are not painted, Even I think it's prohobited by the church rules to do so)

6. Man will trust his gadget more than his first neighbor (on it's way to be fulfilled)

7. People will drive in rigs upon the moon and stars. (already happened)

8. The whole world will be plagued by a strange disease and nobody will be able to find a cure;
everybody will say I know, I know, because I am learned and smart, but nobody will know anything.
(already fulfiller or partly fulfilled?)

9. People will be lost and will become more and more senseless day by day. (currently fulfilling)

10. Men will be born not knowing who was their grand-father and great grand-father. (partly fulfilled)

11. It will not be possible to distinguish a man from a woman. Everybody will dress the same. (fulfilled)

12. People will believe that their illusion is the real truth, although there will be no truth in their heads. (fulfilled)

13. Men will build a box and within will be some kind of gadget with images.
With the help of this image-gadget man will be able to see everything that is happening all over the world.

14. After the Second Big War, all of that will be just a bitter illusion,
because many will forget God and they will worship only their own human intelligence (fulfilled)

15.. A world war III would burst out (not yet fulfilled)

16. Great famine after World war 3

17. Many will worship the Antichrist and accept his evil system (and his number, the number of the beast)
Most of the prophecies I publish are given to The Righteous Dimitri Tarabibicz (recorder around 1850s),
He was illiterate Serbian villager who lived an extremely pious manner in the mid 19th century.
This is small portion of all the Orthodox Prophecies we the Orthodox Christians has left as a heritage of the Holy Fathers.
