Thanks for the guide was very helpful inn my installation and testing of the plugin. I would like to add that if people get a problem with the pngtopnm, giftopnm etc like I did go, over the path settings in FuzzyOcr.cf I forgot to remove a # and was walking in circles for a while.
A notice on the netpbm install is that the documention with netpbm tells you to install it a bit different: configure && make && make package && installnetpbm which did the trick for me.
