Many of the suggested programs are suitable to be installed on a newly installed Debian GNU/Linux. When I have time I’ll set a list of packages worthy to be installed on fresh Debian install. Many of the suggested programs are suitable to be installed on Xubuntu and other Debian / Ubuntu based Linux distros.

Same kind of non-free software are useful to install also on Xubuntu Linux and probably to other Ubuntu derivatives 🙂
